In 2017, we released a hand-stitched, locally printed zine that circulated only across the Bay Area—passed between bookstores, art fairs, and friends. Created in an art naïve style with raw, expressive linework, the zine embraced a punk ethos: lo-fi, urgent, and deeply personal. Influenced by traditional hand-drawn comics and underground publishing, it told fragmented stories that blended surrealism, humor, and emotional immediacy, echoing the energy of early DIY scenes and outsider art traditions.

Over time, that same zine evolved into a full-length graphic novel, reworked in color and released internationally. Though the production shifted toward a more refined visual style, it retained the spirit of the original—an honest, unfiltered voice from the margins. The graphic novel stands as both a tribute to its handmade roots and an expansion into broader visual storytelling, carrying forward the same belief in drawing as resistance, intimacy, and direct expression.
